Ben Vorster showed a lot of patience before they scored their first try of the day to take an early lead. Drostdy HTS not to be outdone, scored their try to level the scores after 10 minutes of the first half.
A converted penalty by Ben Vorster with 18 minutes to go, gave the lead back (8-5) to Ben Vorster. With 15 minutes to go in the first half, JP Britz of Drostdy HTS scored their second try (12-08). A great try with several players handling the ball before Britz scored.
Ben Vorster could not secure the ball from the kick-off. The ball was kicked football style with Longman falling on the ball for Drostdy's 3rd try (19-08).
The first 35 minutes was an even affair with mistakes the majority reason for tries being scored. Both teams wanting to spread the ball at every opportunity. Drostdy HTS ended the first half in "control".

Drostdy HTS' defence or lack thereof in the midfield allowed Ben Vorster to score the first try of the second half (15-24).
With 15 minutes left on the clock, it was Ben Vorster who had the edge in a game that lost most of its structure. Drostdy HTS' defence was brilliant and stopped several "tries" meters from their goal line.
Ben Vorster continued pressure eventually paid off with a try with ten minutes to go (20-24). Drostdy HTS converted a penalty with 8 minutes to go (20-27).
Drostdy HTS scored their 5th try after some great work on the attack and sealed the win therewith (34-20)
This game was still balanced on the knives edge with 10 minutes to go. However, Drostdy HTS dominated the last ten minutes to win with "relative" ease on the scoreboard. The game on the field was much closer.
