The Hollywoodbets SharksGen sealed a dominant 42-21 victory over the Toyota Cheetahs U20 in their SA Rugby Under-20 encounter, powered by a spectacular hat-trick from winger Clinton Agu.
The Cheetahs enjoyed a dream start when Jade Muller scored a converted try in the opening minute, but the Sharks quickly wrestled back control. Clinton Agu levelled the scores in the 11th minute before Claud Steyn crossed under the posts to put the visitors ahead. Just before the interval, Agu struck again to hand the Sharks a commanding 21-7 half-time lead.
The Sharks carried that momentum into the second period, with Agu completing his hat-trick just one minute after the restart. Although Duncan Basson hit back with a try for the Cheetahs, a yellow card to Petrus Oberholzer opened the floodgates. The Sharks ruthlessly exploited the extra man, scoring rapid-fire tries through Luann Olivier and Keenan Stoffels, while kicker Iwan Jordaan remained flawless to push the score to 42-14.
The final quarter became a scrappy affair as both sides cleared their benches and struggled with discipline, leading to yellow cards for both teams. A late consolation try from the Cheetahs' Anrich Scheffer altered the final scoreline, but the Sharks comfortably closed out an impressive 42-21 win.
