Fidelity SecureDrive Lions Received A Double Boost Before Glasgow Clash

The Fidelity SecureDrive Lions have received a double boost ahead of their United Rugby Championship clash against the Glasgow Warriors on Saturday at Ellis Park at 15:45 (SA Time), with Springbok scrumhalf Morné van den Berg and powerful tighthead prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye both returning to the matchday squad.

Van den Berg is back after missing the previous fixture against the Dragons with a leg injury. Ntlabakanye, meanwhile, returns after sitting out the last match as he awaited a hearing following a positive test for a banned substance last year. His availability is a major boost to the Lions' front row.

Bronson Mills suffered a knee injury against the Dragons. Lions backline and attack coach Ricardo Loubscher confirmed Mills’ situation remains unclear and named Richard Kriel as his likely replacement.

“Currently, he is struggling with a knee injury. We are still waiting for the medical team to give us clarity on how long he will be sidelined.”

“We have Richard Kriel, who can step in for him. We are actually blessed to have good depth at centre. Richard is eager to play.”
