
The Blitzboks scored six tries to beat Spain 38-12 in Vancouver to claim the HSBC SVNS Vancouver title with a polished and clinical performance.
The Blitzboks were under pressure from the kick-off; however, Ryan Oosthuizen scored the Blitzboks’ first try when he dashed down the touchline following a turnover in their own half to lead 05-00 after two minutes of play.
A minute later, the Blitzboks pounced on a mistake made by Spain and scored their second try, which Ronald Brown converted to extend the Blitzboks’ lead to 12-00.
Two minutes later, Shilton van Wyk controlled a grubber and scored his first try of the final to extend the Blitzboks' lead to 17-00, which was the halftime score.
The Blitzboks continued their fine form, and a quick tap by Tristan Leyds led to Shilton van Wyk taking a short pass and crashing over for the Blitzboks ' forty try. Brown converted to extend the Blitzboks’ lead to 24-00 after a minute of play in the second half.
Following a try by Spain, Gino Cupido scored a fifty-meter try. Dewald Human Converted to extend the Blitzboks' lead to 31-05.
Spain added a second try, to which Impi Visser replied with the Blitzboks’ sixth try. Human converted to secure a 38-12 win.
