
The Blitzboks secured their place in the semi-final against Australia tonight following a good 17-12 win against New Zealand 7s.
The Blitzboks opened the scoring off a great effort by Impi Visser. Ronald Brown converted to edge the Blitzboks 07-00 into the lead after just two minutes of play in the first half.
Following great work by Ronald Brown from the back of a scrum, led to a great try by Shilton van Wyk to edge the Blitzboks into a 12-00 lead with one minute still to play in the first half.
Following four minutes of extra time played in the first half, Siviwe Soyizwapi crashed over in the corner to score the Blitzboks third try, extending their lead to 17-00 going into the second half.
Rob Rush and Frank Vaenuku scored New Zealand 7s tries in the second half to cut the Blitzboks’ lead to 17-12 after five minutes of play in the second half.
The Blitzboks held on to secure a 17-12 win to secure a semi-final berth against Australia at 22:33 tonight.
