Blitzboks Claim HSBC SVNS Perth Title With Win Over Fiji

The Blitzboks secured their second title of the 2026 HSBC SVNS Series with a hard-fought 21-19 win over Fiji in Perth.

The Blitzboks started like a house on fire, and following an intercept and brilliant hands and interplay, it was Ryan Oosthuizen who eventually scored in the corner. Ricardo Duarttee converted to edge the Blitzboks 07-00 into the lead.

The Blitzboks attacked from the kick-off, and Sebastiaan Jobb eventually scored a great second try for the Blitzboks. Ricardo Duarttee was again on target to extend the Blitzboks’ lead to 14-00.

Fiji hit back with a try by Viwa Naduvalo to cut the Blitzboks’ lead to 14-05 with a minute to play. However, Fiji was not done yet, and Jeremaia Matana crashed over for Fiji’s second try. Terio Veilawa converted to cut the Blitzboks’ lead to 14-12 at the halftime break.

Fiji continued with their dominance in the final minutes of the first half and added a first try after just one minute of play in the second half to take a 19-14 lead.
