All Backs Closing In On Springboks’ Number One Ranking

Following the matches in the first weekend of the November internationals, it was only England, with their 25-07 win over Australia, that improved on their rankings.

England moved past France into the fourth position after earning 0,40 log points. Australia lost 0.40 rating points, which was not enough for Argentina in sixth place to overtake Australia.

The Springboks did not earn any ranking points despite thrashing Japan 61-07 at Wembley Stadium. Also, Scotland did not earn any ranking points despite beating the USA 85-00 at Murrayfield.

The All Blacks earned 0.98 points for their 26-13 win over Ireland in Chicago. The All Blacks reduced the Springboks' lead to 1,20 ranking points and increased their lead over Ireland to 2.15 points.

World Rugby rankings are important because they will determine the seedings for the 2027 Rugby World Cup pool draw. The draw for the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 will take place on Wednesday, December 03, 2025, in Sydney, Australia.
