
It was confirmed that Affies' Commercial Manager, Pine Pienaar, has resigned. Pienaar joined the Affies team in October 2023 and was seen as the final master stroke of the then Head of Rugby, Ryno van der Merwe, to return Affies as a force in schoolboy rugby.
Despite doing an excellent job as a Commercial Manager, Pienaar was seen with a radio in hand, giving instructions during the Affies 1stXV matches during the past two years.
Pienaar is well known in rugby circles and was actively involved in professional rugby for several years before joining Affies. He was Head coach at the Cheetahs Vodacom Cup 2008-2010, Head coach at the Blue Bulls Currie Cup 2011-2013, Defence coach at the Bulls Superrugby 2013-2017, Defence coach at the Bulls Superrugby 2019-2020, Technical Advisor Seniors & u20 Attack Coach 2020-2021 at the Blue Bulls.
