It was confirmed that Christoff Lotter, who was appointed as the Head of Rugby and 1stXV coach in August 2024 at Boland Landbou, will be replaced by Nico Breedt.
Nico Breedt only spent one year as 1stXV coach at Maritzburg College before moving to Boland Landbou. Breedt coached the age groups during 2024 and 2023 at Maritzburg College before being promoted.
Lötter will be remembered for his term as head coach of Paarl Gymnasium 1stXV from 2010 until 2015. Those years are often referred to as the "golden" years at Paarl Gimnasium, with 2013 being the highlight when Paarl Gim ended the season unbeaten, ranked number one in South Africa and produced four SA Schools players. Thereafter, he joined the Maties coaching structures and had great success as the head coach for Maties U20 Young Guns head coach until 2020, whereafter he rejoined the Paarl Gimnasium coaching staff.
