EG Jansen And Monnas Added Some Excitement To NoordVaal Cup

A week ago, I wrote that the NoordVaal Cup was becoming a tad boring, with most, if not all, of the results being predictable. However, then entered EG Jansen and Monnas, beating Waterkloof and Transvalia, resulting in all the bookies losing a lot of money.

This weekend promises to be exciting with Monnas and EG Jansen intent on continuing their "good luck," while apart from Garsfontein, the "others" are looking to return to winning and securing playoff spots.

EG Jansen vs Menlopark

It will be a bit far-fetched to predict a win for EG Jansen over the visiting Menlopark this weekend; however, Menlopark is on a three-match losing streak. Menlopark lost to Waterkloof (19-27), Garsfontein (27-40) and Transvalia (27-47) and will want to get their season back on track and keep their championship hopes alive.

EG Jansen, on the other hand, is trying to get out of the relegation zone, and a few wins on the day will definately help a lot to ease them out of danger.

Who will win? The wise money will back Menlopark, however, would we not love to see EG Jansen returning to its former glory days?

Garsfontein vs Transvalia

Garsfontein will cruise to a hard-fought win, pushing Transvalia closer to the relegation zone.

Helpmekaar vs Waterkloof

Waterkloof suffered their third loss in the NoordVaal Cup, losing to EG Jansen (20-22) a week ago, and will want to get back on the winning road against Helpmekaar. However, despite losing to KES (21-23) a week ago, Helpmekaar was on a five-match winning streak and must be the favourite to beat Waterkloof despite a Waterkloof fight in the first sixty minutes.

Monnas vs Nelspruit

Despite being "safe" in the relegation battle due to their junior teams, Monnas 1stXV's win over Transvalia would have given them confidence to take Nelspuit head-on and secure their second NoordVaal win and fifth of the season.

Nelspruit has a decent start to the season, however, since their last win over Waterkloof two months ago, they have lost five matches in a row, with a loss to Noordheuwel (14-27) a week ago.

Even the Village Idiot agree that Monnas will secure their second NoordVaal Cup win.
