2026 will see a major shake-up in the NoordVaal Competitions as the organisers are set to reduce the number of matches that are played in the competition.
At the end of 2025, two schools will be relegated and one school promoted in the Cup, Plate and Shield competitions. This will reduce the Cup Division to nine schools while the Plate and Shield Division will remain at nine schools.
Three schools will be promoted to the Bowl competition, which will then be divided into two Pools of six schools.
At the end of 2026, two schools will be relegated and one promoted in the Cup, Plate and Shield competitions. This will reduce the Cup Division to eight schools while the Plate and Shield Division will remain at nine schools.
With most divisions at or past the halfway mark of the competition, we took a look at who is set to be promoted and relegated. However, it must be noted that it is not an exact science, and the strengths and/or weaknesses of outstanding fixtures could have a big impact on the final placings of the schools in the different competitions.
In the NoordVaal Cup Division at this stage, Middelburg should be promoted from the Plate Division, while EG Jansen and Nelspruit will be relegated to the Plate Division at this stage.
