Xerox Lions coach Ivan van Rooyen and his charges made two changes to the team that will host DHL Western Province at home at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday evening.
Ross Cronjé and Tiaan Swanepoel will run out at scrumhalf and fullback in the only two changes, both in the backline, Cronjé as part of rotation and Swanepoel in the place of injured EW Viljoen. Viljoen picked up a grade 2 hamstring tear in the match last weekend in Kimberley.
Captain Elton Jantjies has been in action for the Lions in Currie Cup since 2010 with stints in Japan, the Stormers and the Springboks in between. In 44 Currie Cup matches, he has racked up 82 conversions, 102 penalties, 2 Drop Goals and 496 Points.
His non-Currie Cup appearances are 2010 (SA U20 – 5 games, 12 points), 2012-2019 (Springboks 37 games, 281 points) and 2014-2018 (Shining Arcs, 35 games, 224 points).
