Who Knows The Truth Re Siya Kolisi’s Move To Cape Town?

For the last few weeks, Siya Kolisi's move back to Cape Town has made headlines. The primary reason for Kolisi's return to Cape Town is to be closer to his children, who are living with his ex-wife, Rachel.

However, it was confirmed that exploratory talks have been held and are progressing positively.

DHL Stormers Director of Rugby John Dobson was measured and polite in his response when asked about Kolisi's move.

"It’s out there that Siya would be interested in a move back and it’s something we’d entertain," Dobson said.

"But he’s under contract with the Sharks."

"The first conversation is, if Siya would like to join us, that would be something between him and the Sharks. He’s got a contract there that we respect."

"We certainly didn’t approach Siya and we have a great relationship with the Sharks so that’s up to him."

"He’s a great leader and player, and has a long history with the Stormers, but a possible move is up to him and the Sharks."

"Once that box is ticked then we can see what’s in the piggy bank, but that’s another conversation."

Hollywoodbets Sharks coach John Plumtree was a bit irritated when asked for his view on Kolisi's move on Saturday post-match. He said it is not a big issue in their camp.

"It isn’t something that we’ve handled yet," Plumtree asked.

"It was a bit of a surprise to me, it came about at a time when we were preparing for the Cape Town game."

"With me, I separate that type of matter from match preparation."

"What matters more to me is the team and not one person’s issue, even if it is the captain."

"I just went and asked him, Are you on board? And he said he is."

"So we decided to get ready for this game."

"We’ll deal with that over the next, whatever, I don’t know."

"I’m not going to deal with it now."
