Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi confirmed he has no plans to retire from international rugby and is still up for selection as the team touched down at a packed OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday.
Siya Kolisi will play for French Top 14 club Racing 92 this season and said he still had the hunger to represent the Boks.
"Nothing will change, I will still be up for selection, I want to play," Kolisi said following speculation that his contract with Racing 92 prohibits his continued availability for Springbok rugby duties.
"Whether I will be captain, I don’t know, that is up to the new coach, what matters to me the most is as long as I can put on the Springbok jersey, it doesn’t matter whether I’m the captain or not.
"As long as I get selected, that is all I care about. I am looking forward to the new journey (at Racing 92), hopefully, it will go well."
“Whoever is Springbok captain is always going to have the most support and they will fit in like a glove."
“As long as I get to pull on the Springbok jersey, I am happy.”
