Round 2 was dominated by a brilliant performance from the Vodacom Bulls and a workmanlike performance by the Airlink Pumas. The team of the week is understandably dominated by the Bulls, however, one felt guilty not including more Pumas in the team which is an indication of a well-coached team that played as a unit.
Several fullbacks caught the eye yesterday, however, Devon Williams secured his selection with another stellar performance. Canan Moodie showed why he is so highly rated not only in Pretoria and Eduan Keyter's performance must raise a question of why he is not part of the Sharks' URC squad. Tinus de Beer and Lucky Dlepu were the two stars of the Pumas against the Lions and deserve their selection.
The pack of forwards is dominated by the Bulls. "Captain Courageous" Nama Xaba performance in a losing WP team gave him the nod against Bulls captain Marcell Coetzee while Simon Miller's move to lock did not slow him down at all. The Bulls' dominance upfront secured their front row's selection as a combination.
Simon Miller is the only player that secured selection in both week's teams.
Currie Cup Team of Week 2:
15. Devon Williams (Pumas), 14. Canan Moodie (Bulls), 13. Harold Vorster (Bulls), 12. Marius Louw (Sharks), 11. Eduan Keyter (Sharks), 10. Thinus de Beer (Pumas), 9. Lucky Dlepu (Pumas), 8.
