Emirates Lions head coach Ivan van Rooyen said during a post-match interview that they are extremely excited to play the Round of 16 against one of the original European powerhouses, Racing 92 at home on the weekend of 31 March 2023.
"We are obviously happy with the result, especially in week 3 of the tour which is normally mentally the toughest week on tour. I'm also happy with the way the team reacted and adapted after the late venue change," said van Rooyen.
"The second half was again a situation where we conceded both penalties as well as little territory dominance. Areas where we will keep on working for solutions and the ability to see the momentum back in our favour."
Van Rooyen said they looking forward to week 4 on tour. We have a full day of travel on Monday and then a short preparation week. Everyone knows how extremely tough Connacht is at home. It provides a great opportunity for us as a group to test ourselves once more. The Emirates Lions will face Connacht on Saturday at 21h35 (SA Time) in Galway.
Van Rooyen confirmed that there is no new injuries to report on after their win against the Dragons RFC on Saturday.
