The SA Rugby Under-19 Cup resumed with the Vodacom Bulls defending their title against the Toyota Cheetahs, DHL Western Province, Cell C Sharks, Leopards and Valke U19s, who played each other over a single round of matches with the top four teams qualified to play in the semi-finals.
The first semifinal take place on Friday 02 June at Loftus Verseveld at 13h00 when the Vodacom Bulls u/19 will host the Toyota Cheetahs u/19. The Vodacom Bulls u/19s topped the log and if they beat the Toyota Cheetahs u/19s on Friday they will host the final.
The Vodacom Bulls' only loss the season was against DHL Western Province u/19 (25-26) in week 1 at Loftus Versveld. The Toyota Cheetahs u/19s lost to the Vodacom Bulls u/19s in Bloemfontein (14-38) and Leopards u/19s (14-24). However, the Toyota Cheetahs' beat the other finalists the DH Western Province u/19s (44-26) and Cell CSharks u/19s (27-21) during the last two weeks of the league matches.
The second semi-final is between second-placed DHL Western Province and third-placed Cell C Sharks u/19s with the Cell C Sharks u/19s beating their hosts on Saturday, (32-31) at the Hamiltons Rugby Club in Cape Town on 06 May 2023. This semi-final will be again be played at the Hamiltons Rugby Club at 13h00 on Saturday.
