The fixtures of the 2021 Varsity Cup competition was confirmed. The competition will be played in a single round format with a semi-final and final to determine the winner.
The two teams who end the season at the bottom of the competition log, will automatically be relegated to the Varsity Shield competition.
According to sources the possibility that Covid19 regulations could prevent regular games was also discussed. A proposal that all the teams could compete in a bio-bubble in a World Cup format is apparently the favourite and are being investigated.
The assumption that Maties and Tuks will again play in the final may be in doubt as Madibaz (Andre Tredoux), UFS Shimlas (Pote Human), as well as UWC (Paul True), all appointed new coaches for the 2021 season.
