Round 15 of the BKT United Rugby Championship delivered some outstanding individual performances. Here, we take a look at the best players by position from the weekend’s matches, with each side afforded a maximum of four representatives in the final XV.
15. Willie le Roux (Vodacom Bulls)
Capitalised on an error to score the Bulls' ninth and final try in their big home win over Ospreys. Also had a team-high 118 metres gained and four offloads.
14. Kyle Steyn (Glasgow Warriors)
Demonstrated his finishing ability with two opportunist tries to help keep Glasgow's winning run in 2024 going at Zebre Parma. Had the most successful carries (9), clean breaks (4), defenders beaten (5) and metres gained (158) in the match.
13. David Kriel (Vodacom Bulls)
His breakthrough season continued with an influential display in attack in Pretoria. His vision set up three touchdowns and also crossed himself as he took hold of the game in the second and third quarters.
12. Keiran Williams (Ospreys)
He was a try scorer in the heavy loss to the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld. He also had a joint game-high seven successful carries and a match-best four defenders beaten while his 61 metres gained was the most for the Welsh side.
11. Jacob Stockdale (Ulster)
Claimed Ulster’s third try in the final minute of the first half in the win over Benetton. Had a game-best most metres gained (130) and joint-high four clean breaks, with his four defenders beaten the highest for the Irish province.
10. Tomas Albornoz (Benetton)
Posted 11 of Benetton's 34 points in the loss at Kingspan Stadium with a try and three conversions. His nine defenders beaten was also the highest in the match.
9. Embrose Papier (Vodacom Bulls)
Helped himself to a try as the South African side enhanced their chances of a home quarter-final with a comprehensive win over Ospreys. It is his third team-of-the-week appearance in the last seven rounds.
8. Henco Venter (Glasgow Warriors)
Played in Steyn to score the Warriors' third try as they moved to the top of the standings with three rounds remaining.
7. Elrigh Louw (Vodacom Bulls)
Had a joint match-high seven successful carries as the Bulls went try crazy against the Welsh side to preserve their place in the top four. His third inclusion in the team of the week this season.
6. Shamus Hurley-Langton (Connacht)
His early try helped Connacht to a thrilling victory over Dragons to keep them in contention for a play-off spot. His one offload and two turnovers won were also a team-best.
5. Ruben van Heerden (DHL Stormers)
Was among the try scorers as the Stormers knocked Leinster off the top of the table with a big win in Cape Town. Also had a joint game-high one turnover as he was named in the team of the week for the second time this campaign.
4. Salmaan Moerat (DHL Stormers)
Played his part in a dominant performance by the South Africans, who earned a bonus-point victory against the Irish province to maintain their play-off push.
3. Vincent Koch (Hollywoodbets Sharks)
Grabbed one of the Sharks' four tries as they registered a fourth win of the season in the victory over Scarlets in Llanelli.
2. Gregor Hiddleston (Glasgow Warriors)
Scored Glasgow's first two tries in their victory over Zebre at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi as they moved four points clear of Leinster.
1. Rhys Carre (Cardiff)
The Wales international was responsible for his side's only try in the home loss to Edinburgh as he made the team of the week for the fifth time this season.
