Round 2 of the BKT United Rugby Championship delivered some outstanding individual performances. Take a look at the best players by position from the weekend’s matches, with each side afforded a maximum of four representatives in the final XV.
15. Aphelele Fassi (Hollywoodbets Sharks) - Was a shining light for the Sharks as they went down to a 34-13 defeat at Leinster, leading his team with 164 metres gained, six successful carries, two clean breaks and five defenders beaten.
14. Tommy O'Brien (Leinster) - Like Fassi, turned in a dominant performance, leading Leinster with 125 metres made, six defenders beaten, five clean breaks and seven successful carries and also went over for a try.
13. Mason Grady (Cardiff) - Scored the only try of the game as Cardiff won 16-9 in the first Welsh derby of the season at Dragons and led his team with 82 metres gained and three clean breaks.
12. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (DHL Stormers) - Scored a try and added four conversions in the Stormers' 52-7 win over Scarlets while also leading the South African franchise with 10 successful carries.
11. Diarmuid Kilgallen (Connacht) - Grabbed two of Connacht's three tries in the 34-26 victory over Glasgow Warriors and led his side with 86 metres gained and three clean breaks.
10. Clayton Blommetjies (DHL Stormers) - Went over for one of the Stormers' tries in the dominant win over Scarlets and added two conversions. Also led the Stormers with 99 metres gained and six defenders beaten.
9. Paul de Wet (DHL Stormers) - Impressed in a livewire performance against Scarlets, darting over for a try in each half at the Danie Craven Stadium.
8. Francke Horn (Emirates Lions) - Scored the Lions' only try as they went down to the narrowest of defeats, 17-16 to Edinburgh, and led the team with two offloads and a clean break.
7. Justin Tipuric (Ospreys) - He may not have been on the scoresheet but was at his brilliant best in a man-of-the-match performance in the 34-31 win against Zebre Parma. Led the Ospreys with a pair of turnovers and was a menace at the breakdown.
6. Marcel Theunissen (DHL Stormers) - Was a thorn in the side of Scarlets as he went over for a pair of early tries and was a major contributor in a powerful, dominant forwards display from Stormers.
5. Tom Ahern (Munster) - Came off the substitutes' bench to barge his way over for the last-gasp try that enabled Munster to snatch a 13-13 draw at Benetton.
4. Edwin Edogbo (Munster) - A threat on both sides of the ball as Munster earned a draw late on and led the Irish province with four defenders beaten and two turnovers won.
3. Tom O'Toole (Ulster) - A pivotal figure as Ulster made it two wins from two by beating the Vodacom Bulls 26-19 and was always available to carry and make tackles in a fiercely contested forward battle.
2. Tom Stewart (Ulster) - Can't stop scoring tries and added another to his collection against the Bulls.
1. Nicky Smith (Ospreys) - Came off the substitutes' bench to score a try that proved crucial in the Ospreys' narrow victory over Zebre.
