URC – Fassi Steared Hollywoodbets Sharks To A Hard Fought Win Over Edinburgh

The Hollywoodbets Sharks secured a well-deserved and hard-fought 23-13 victory over Edinburgh at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Saturday.

Despite dominating territory as well as possession, the Hollywoodbets Sharks can be excused if they felt at the halftime break that their 07-03 lead does not reflect the action on the field. The arm wrestle continued in the second half with both teams scoring late points. The Hollywoodbets Sharks battled galantly to come away for a hard-fought 23-13 win.

Despite domination in the first twenty minutes, the Hollywoodbets Sharks could not convert their dominance into points until a brilliant Aphelele Fassi cut through the defence of Edinburgh like a hot knife through butter to score next to the poles after an almost forty-meter run, beating several defenders. The try from Fassi opened the Hollywoodbets Sharks account on the scoreboard leading 07-00 after twenty-two minutes of play in the first half.

Ben Healy converted a penalty to open Edinburgh's account on the scoreboard with three minutes still to play in the first half, reducing the Hollywoodbets Sharks lead to 07-03.

The Hollywoodbets Sharks' Lukhanyo Am scored the second try of the host after just eight minutes of play in the second half. Aphelele Fassi was once again instrumental in braking the line of defence before offloading to Am who steamrolled his way over in the corner to extend the Hollywoodbets Sharls' lead to 12-03.

Mistakes by the hosts allowed Ben Healy to keep the visitors in contact on the scoreboard. Healy converted a second penalty, with Edinburgh clawing their way back into contention, setting up camp in the Hollywoodbets Sharks 22m for extended periods.

Siya Masuku converted two penalties for the Hollywoodbets Sharks to make it a twelve-point lead for the hosts with ten minutes still to play.

Phepsi Buthelezi scored the Hollywoodbets Sharks' third try against a fourteen-man Edinburgh. Buthelezi steamrolled past several Edinburg defenders to make the score, however Edinburgh had the final say when Boan Venter steamrolled his way over the Hollywoodbets tryline to reduce the host's lead to 13-23, which was also the final score.
