DHL Stormers head coach John Dobson believes the next few weeks at the Cape Town Stadium will be key for their campaign when the DHL Stormers return to action with an important clash against Edinburgh in Round 12 of the URC.
“We talked among the leadership group on Monday morning. We need to build some momentum, we are not where we want to be on the log, but in both seasons so far these home-ground games are so important."
“The result at Loftus put us under a little bit of pressure in terms of the log, but we have done it twice before so we can do it now. I know the wins and points will come so I’m not too worried about the position now."
“Had we been better on our tour in November, it would have given us a bit more comfort. We were fairly beaten at Loftus, but we are getting towards the sharp end where the season gets defined, and as you can see, the log is very congested. With the exception of the Bulls, every one of the teams ahead of us on the log still has to come to South Africa. It’s a tough place to come at this time of the year."
“I think we are in for a really great autumn series of rugby. Coming up now we have these two big URC games and then the LaRochelle match, and hopefully another playoff after that. It’s specail to be back home because we haven’t played here since January.”
“I do not doubt that we will get this home run and the rest will look after itself. We just need to beat Edinburgh followed by Ulster and then the table will look a lot more different in the next five weeks.”
“So the log is going to change quite a bit over the next four to five weeks. All we can do is win these games at home.”
