The Blitzboks had to work hard to beat Argentina 17-12 to win their pool at the HSBC New Zealand Sevens. The Blitzboks will play in the Cup Quarter Finals at 23:58 tonight.
Argentina attacked from the word go and opened the score after only two minutes of play. The Blitzboks scored next with great footwork from Selvyn Davids setting Dalvon Blood away to level the scores with two minutes left on the clock.
The Blitzboks won the physical battle when Christie Grobbelaar scored the Blitzboks' second try to go into the halftime break leading 12-07.
The Blitzboks left a gap wide open for Argentina to stroll over to take the lead back with 14-12. Zain Davids bulldozed his way over the tryline with 90 seconds to go to win the match 17-12.
