Ulster continued their unbeaten streak at Kingspan Stadium with a win against the Toyota Cheetahs in the Guinness PRO14 with 20-10. After losing to Ospreys last time out Dan MacFarland’s side were able to get back to winning ways in cold and wet conditions in Belfast with the Toyota Cheetahs left counting the cost of unforced errors.
The loss marked back-to-back defeats for the Cheetahs. The first half was a very tight affair with both sides who ran hard on attack and backed this up with a solid defence. Only one try was scored early in the game with the Cheetahs who added a converted penalty late in the first half.
The second half was equally competitive, with each side only being able to score a converted try, the Cheetahs' try scored late in the half. The Free Staters, however, will be rueing missed opportunities as unforced errors close to the tryline on a handful of occasions cost them dearly.
Scorers:
Ulster: Tries: Tom O'Toole, Robert Baloucoune. Conversions: Bill Johnston (2). Penalties: Bill Johnston (2).
Toyota Cheetahs: Tries: Clayton Blommetjies. Conversions: Ruan Pienaar. Penalty: Ruan Pienaar.
