It was confirmed by reliable sources that the hosting of the 2021 u/18 Craven Week and u/16 Grant Khomo Week will take place this year despite the suspension of rugby recently by the Department of Basic Education.
SARU announced earlier that the u/18 Craven Week will be hosted at Monnas while the u/16 Grant Khomo week will be hosted at DHS during the July 2021 school holidays.
Unfortunately, the dates of the weeks could not be confirmed. At this stage, it seems that the July school holidays may be the only option available as the "National Cricket Week" has been confirmed as scheduled for the October school holidays.
Several unions have already started with trials while others have finalised their squads for the Youth Weeks. However, there are concerns regarding the participation of "smaller" unions that have not yet started with trials.
