It was a very busy day at Monnas as the u/13 Craven Week and the u/13B week produced some great running rugby, however, some very close and physical games produced more than their fair share of emotions and action.
Lions 43 (22), Eastern Province 5 (0)
The host running Eastern Province off their feet with a brilliant balanced display with forwards and backs joining in the try fest. Eight-man Ruann Bester was the star of the day for the hosts.

The Limpopo Bulls were just not in the game at all with eleven tries scored by the Capetonians with winger Canaan Joshua scoring three brilliant tries, however, fullback Kyle Snyder scored two tries and converted seven conversions to end as the top scorer of day one with twenty-four points.

Blue Bulls 24(19), Griquas 26(05)
The Blue Bulls race into three tries to one lead (19-05) in the first half just to be overtaken at the end by a "new" Griquas team that came from the sheds in the second half. A penalty try conceded by a desperate Bulls was the difference at the end.

A dominant SWD was awarded a penalty try and converted a penalty to lead 10-05 at the end of the fist half. They then unsuccesfully tried to hang on as Boland scored two tries in the second half to edge SWD with just two points with Shane Alexander the hero of the day with his two great tries.

Sharks 39 (20), Griffons 17(12)
The Sharks secured the win with a brilliant second-half performance outscoring the Griffons with three tries to one, however, the performance of Griffons' tighthead Nyakallo Masiloane who scored two tries did impress.

A close match which could have gone either way with the lead changing several times, with a try by the Valke's Sebastian Small with minutes to go the eventual decider.

Border was seemingly on their way to a comfortable win, leading 14-05 at the halftime break, however, three tries by the Pumas saw them beating Border deservedly thanks to their second-half dominant performance.

Leopards 17(10), Namibia 00(00)
The Leopards opened up an early lead scoring two unanswered tries to lead 10-00 at the halftime break. Namibia looked a lot better in the second half and restricted the Leopards to just one try in the second half. Carlo Claase, tighthead of the Leopards scored two tries in a great performance by the big boy.

Zimbabwe dominated from the word go, scoring seven unanswered tries.
