In the last match of the 2023 Toyota Challenge, the Toyota Cheetahs will take on Western Force on Saturday, 7 October in Claremont in Western Australia at the Revo Fitness Stadium at 09:00 (SA time), and the game will be live on SuperSport.
The Toyota Cheetahs were victorious in the first two rounds by beating Western Force 31-27 and 27-12 and suffered a narrow defeat of 27-30 in round 3. This significant prize money not only adds to the intensity of the competition but also recognises the outstanding efforts of the teams.
On the Round 3 match: “I felt that we didn’t start well and we fought back in the last 15 minutes before half-time. There were a few strange decisions in the second half, and we lost our cool which resulted in 15 penalties, two yellow cards, and a free kick.
It was difficult to recover from that, so this week we spoke a lot about what we can’t control, and what we can do in a similar situation.” Said, coach Hawies Fourie.
“The EPCR Challenge Cup is the big thing for us. Besides Saturday’s match, we have two more warm-up games to prepare we’ve got to use the game time we have well.”
“We had a good training week and decided to select the best available team. We want to win this one and do it well.”
