The Toyota Cheetahs travelled to Cape Town and claimed the top spot on the Currie Cup standings with a 26-17 win over DHL Western Province.
In a scrappy match, the Toyota Cheetahs left it late but a penalty try was awarded to them in the dying minutes of the match to win and deny Western Province a bonus point.
DHL Western Province made a strong start and set up camp in the visitors' territory before the pressure eventually resulted in the opening try, with hooker Andre-Hugo Venter scoring from a maul.
The Bloemfontein side got on the scoreboard when flank Gideon van der Merwe scored in the corner, however, DHL Western Province replied with a second try after enterprising backline play, with Angelo Davids finishing in the corner.
The Toyota Cheetahs added a Reinhardt Fortuin try after great work by Ruan Pienaar, but it was DHL Western Province that took a slender 14-12 lead into the break.
Kade Wolhuter added a penalty early in the second half to stretch DHL Western Province's lead to 17-12.
The Toyota Cheetahs took control through their bruising pack and Louis van der Westhuizen scored their third try to take the lead the first time in the match.
A penalty try awarded to the Toyota Cheetahs in the final minutes of the match sealed the 26-17 win.
