Toyota Cheetahs Announce New Signings

The Toyota Cheetahs announced the signing of two talented youngsters who will be joining the squad in June. 

David Brits is a centre who captained the University of Stellenbosch Maties to the semi-finals of the 2021 Varsity Cup which was played in a bio-secure environment in Pretoria.

Brits also captained the Selbourne College 1st XV in 2015, and in the same year was selected to represent the South African Schools team

In 2017, he was a part of the Springbok U20 team which played in the Junior Rugby World Championships in Georgia.

Apart from representing the Junior Springboks, he has also played age-level rugby for Western Province while studying a BA Humanities degree at Maties.

Brits are contracted at the Toyota Cheetahs until 31 October 2022.

Brenden de Kock is a scrumhalf that represented the University of the Western Cape during the 2021 Varsity Cup. De Kock has a well-educated kicking boot and it is not unusual for him to take shots on goal.

The product of Brackenfell High School in Cape Town is an all-rounder sportsman who also competed in cricket and athletics.

De Kock is contracted to the Toyota Cheetahs until 31 May 2022.
