Coach Hawies Fourie announced the team to take on the Toyota Invitational on Saturday, 29 May in the Toyota Cheetah Challenge. The action in Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein kicks off at 16:00 with a live broadcast on SuperSport.
The Toyota Invitational side is made up of players from the Vodacom Bulls, Cell C Sharks, DHL Stormers and the Emirates Lions. The team, under the guidance of Ricardo Laubscher, former Springbok assistant coach and Springbok scrum coach Daan Human, will be announced on Friday at 10:30.
Honouring the massive work done by schools and school coaches in South Africa players from both teams will have the unique opportunity on Saturday to wear the socks of the school that helped them create their respective rugby paths.
“With this gesture, we would like to thank all the schools and school coaches that tirelessly produce top quality rugby players for the South African rugby landscape on an annual basis,” said Harold Verster, Managing Director of the Free State Cheetahs (Pty) Ltd.
Jaco Peyper is the referee for the match. He will be assisted by Paul Mente and Mpho Matsaung. The TMO is Ben Crause.
