The Western Force beat the Toyota Cheetahs 38-24 on Wednesday in Bloemfontein.
The Western Force led from the beginning of the match scoring the first points after just four minutes of play in the first half when Harry Potter cut the defence of the Cheetahs in two. Gideon van der Merwe was the Cheetahs' ten minutes later when he bulldozed his way over the visitors' tryline.
Two converted penalties by Max Burey were followed by tries from Nic Dolly and Harry Potter which saw the Western Force leading 25-07 at the halftime break.
Michael Annies opened the scoring in the second half for the Cheetahs after two minutes of play. However, the Western Force struck back almost immediately when flanker Will Harris scored a barnstorming try to extend the visitor's lead to 32-12.
Thereafter, the Cheetahs attacked with purpose and Carl Wegner and Vernon Paulo scored exciting tries. Western Force's Coby Miln added two converted penalties to secure a 38-24 minutes win.
