Two Yellow And A Red Card Cost Namibia A Deserved Win Against Uruguay

Namibia's quest to secure their first win at the Rugby World Cup unfortunately ended with two yellow cards and a red card shown to Namibia in the last forty minutes of play. Namibia led 20-12 at the halftime break, however, their ill discipline resulted in a 36-26 win for Uruguay.

Gerswin Mouton controlled a dropped ball by Uruguay's backline and ran almost sixty meters to open the scoring for Namibia after just one minute of play.

A patiet Namibia dominated the next ten minutes of the match, playing a very structured game plan. Quick hand sent winger JC Greyling down the touchline to score Namibia's second try to increase Namibia's lead to 14-00.

Uruguay fought their way back into the match and Baltazar Amaya ran a great line to crash over the Namibia tryline. A just reward for Uruguay's patient buildup.

Following a converted penalty by Namibia's Tiaan Swanepoel Uruguay upped the tempo and scored their second try after thirty minutes of play in the first half. German Kessler scored the try from the back of a five meter lineout-maul to reduce Namibia's lead to 17-12.

A second Tiaan Swanepoel converted penalty increased Namibia's lead to 20-12 minutes before the end of play in the first half.

Tiaan Swanepoel added another converted penalty for Namibia early in the second half, however, a yellow card to Namibia's prop Johan Coetzee five meters from their tryline allowed Uruguay spread the ball wide for Baltazar Amaya to score his second try of the math in the corner. Namibia led 23-19 after ten minutes of play in the second half.

Santiago Arata cut Namibia's defence in two and scored Uruguay's bonus point try to take a 26-23 lead for the first time in the match.

Two yellow cards in quick succession, one upgraded to a red card, ended Namibia's quest to make history. Namibia was reduced to thirteen players with twenty minutes to play in the second half.

Bautista Basso controlled a brilliant kick-pass to score a great try to increase Uruguay's lead to 33-23. Thereafter, the two sides added a converted penalty each, giving Uruguay a 36-26 lead and six minutes to play. This was also the final score.
