The Blue Bulls, Western Province and Limpopo finished the Under-20 Youth Training Centre (YTC) tournament in Cape Town unbeaten after winning both their matches at City Park on Saturday and Sunday.
All eight provincial YTCs were in action, while two invitational teams completed the line-up.
Hosts WP was probably the pick of the 10 sides in action, as their 10 tries were one more than the nine scored by the Blue Bulls, while Limpopo had two closer wins. A total of 54 tries were scored on the weekend.
The girls from Pretoria scored the most points in their two games, 65, followed by WP on 56 and Griquas on 50.
The action started on Saturday morning, with Limpopo beating the Valke Invitational side by 7-5, after which the WP Invitational team edged out the Sharks by 15-14.
The Bulls' 45-10 win on Saturday was the biggest of the day, while WP beat Border by 36-16, before EP were too strong for their neighbours to the west, SWD, winning this game by 17-0.
On Sunday, the Sharks beat the Valke Invitational side by 26-12, Limpopo were just on top against the WP Invitational side (17-14), Griquas had too much fire-power for SWD (40-12), the Bulls had to work hard to beat Border (20-17) before WP signed off the weekend in style with a 20-3 win over EP.
Shiniqwa Lamprecht of the Bulls, who already played in the Women's Premier Division this year, was the top points' and try scorer - she amassed 35 points and three tries on the weekend, as well as two penalty goals and seven conversions.
