Thirteen Man Eastern Province Earns Respect Against Lions

Eastern Province hosted the Lions in the Nelson Mandala Bay Stadium in a game that was spoilt by the lack of discipline by both sides. The Lions walked off the pitch as winners with 54-24 with Eastern Province's guts and effort still not good enough earn them a win. 

The only highlight of the game was the performance of the Lions' pack of forwards. They dominated from the first minute of the game giving their backline more than adequate quality possession. The lack of fitness of the Eastern Province team is obvious while the Lions' attack lacked rhythm and commitment.

Eastern Province commitment in the last 20 minutes of the game was a pleasure to watch. However, hree tries in the last 5 minutes gave the Lions too much credit on the scoreboard.
