Most of the action in the Central Union was at the Kroonstad Afrikaanse Hoërskool rugby day. The hosts also are known as the "Rooiskool" played against Hentie Cilliers and only secured the victory in the second half after only leading with 10-7 at the break. The backline of the hosts showing that with quality ball from their forwards they can score a lot of tries. Here a special mention must be made by the centre of Rooiskool, Martin Heyns who kept the opposition the whole time on their toes with his strong running and ball distribution. The fullback of Rooiskool Chappies van der Walt was their major contributor on the scoreboard with a total of 17 points.

In the match, everybody came to see Helpmekaar displayed the type of rugby that makes them one of the feared teams in top level schools rugby. Helpmekaar's forwards were in control up front ensuring that they starve the dangerous backline of Welkom Gymnasium of the ball. Here the name of the hard as nails Dameon Venter must be mentioned who deservedly earned the man of the match award. Dameon shows all the qualities that made Bismarck du Plessis a Springbok, but he will be the first to acknowledge the massive work the other forwards put in. Mark Snyman also showed that he does make a difference in the Helpies team and combined very well with Liam van den Berg in dominating play in the loose. Helpies winning with surprisingly ease 31-7.

Witteberg continuing their excellent form this year with their 3rd victory in a row beating Goudveld 15-7. Goudveld still trying to forget their hiding a week ago against Waterkloof.

Other results were Brandfordt 47-21 Harrismith, Kroonstad 5-0 Ficksburg and Welkom Gim 7-31 Helpmekaar.

Elsewhere Noord Kaap again showed that the local opponents in their area do not pose any threat beating Upington with 43-11 while Voortrekker Bethlehem took their turn in beating the struggling Sentraal.
