Garsfontein Hoërskool has established themselves as one of the top rugby schools in South Africa.
Seven of their 2020 1stXV players was contracted to play rugby professionally at the Vodacom Bulls, while two boys received bursaries at TUKS. Five boys from their 2019 crop are still contracted at various unions across the World with several older pupils still shining worldwide as professional rugby players.
We visited Garsfontein and learned that although the quality of coaching is an important part of their success
on the rugby field, the development of the players into successful young men far outweighs the importance of victories.
I interviewed current stars Ruan Delport, Carlton Banies and Kwagga vd Nest, three great boys who are ready to storm their careers as professional rugby players. Listen to their views regarding their experiences at Garsfontein and then make up your mind if you are looking for a "happy" schooling experience for your kids.
