The Blue Bulls Rugby Union Reacts On Rugby Skills Company “Academy”

The Blue Bulls Rugby Union is appalled following a story that was run on SABC regarding poor living conditions for development players at a Pretoria Rugby Club.

Even though the external company that ran the program was NOT affiliated to the BBRU in any way, management from the union has stepped in and managed to stop the program with immediate effect.

Dr Eugene Hare, CEO of the BBRU, “We were extremely upset when we saw the story and knew that we had to act quickly. I got in touch with the rugby club, who in turn put me in contact with the external company that ran the development program. We were very stern about re-emphasizing the procedures and protocols that needed to have been followed.

The BBRU has subsequently managed to stop all coaching initiatives from the Rugby Skills Company and coach Theo Reinecke because of their non-affiliation. Rugby players, both amateur and professionals, are at the heart of what we do, and we will always have their best interest at heart.”
