Talk @ Ruggas.co.za – It Is Time That SA Rugby Reward Effort And Success Rather Than The Colour Of Your Skin

Eastern Province's president, Andre Rademan accused SARU of ignoring their duty in transforming rugby as well as developing ethnic black players.

The letter by Rademan addressed to SARU came after Eastern Province was not automatically promoted to the Currie Cup Premier Division, and will compete in 2021 against Second Division teams.

Rademan failed to mention that Eastern Province was included in the "Franchise Cup", SARU in the process ignored provinces like SWD, Boland, Leopards and Valke who will comfortably beat Rademand and his at best club team.

In our discussion, Bart is the politician who tries to sugarcoat his opinion that is 100% aligned with my opinion. As usual, I am just too uneducated and passionate to take a second to rethink my reaction.

A passionate discussion regarding Easter Province's President claims

Both agree the importance of Eastern Province is undeniable, however, the names Rademan quote of the Eastern Province stars became stars, not because of Eastern Province but rather because of talent scouts and other provinces that developed them.

However, both agree that Boland is going to be humiliated in the upcoming warm-up games by the Bulls, Cheetahs, Griquas and Lions. The announced Eastern Province squad of forty is at best an average club team in Pretoria.

Secondly, the financial and managerial history of the Spears, Kings And Eastern Province is nothing to write home of. The "NEW" Eastern Province must first prove that they can manage the additional R 7 million that they are chasing if they qualify for the Currie Cup Premier Division.

Thirdly they need to warrant their inclusion into the Currie Cup Premier Division with the results on the field.

The short and sweet is that although Eastern Province has buckets full of black talent the management have yet to prove that they are capable of developing them.

Hats of to SARU that did not just give in to yet another empty promise of success in the Eastern Cape. SARU need to start rewarding effort and success rather than the colour of your skin.
