Tafel Lager Griquas head coach Scott Mathie has made only one change to his starting line-up to face the Cell C Sharks in Durban on Saturday @ 16h30. Lock Ewan Coetzee is back in the starting line-up in the place of Adre Smith who moves down to the bench.
With Mathie yet to decide on his final group of replacements, CJ Conradie (hooker), who is in line to make his Carling Currie Cup debut, Johnathan Francke (centre), Reagan Orange (scrumhalf), and Bandisa Ndlovu (prop) were named among the 10 possible replacements.
The men from Kimberley may be at the foot of the log table, but they have tested the Cell C Sharks to the limit in the past and will enter the match determined to prove that they can win after a number of narrow defeats since the start of the season.
Griquas travel to Durban with the knowledge that they will play against a Cell C Sharks side who is not playing their best rugby and after losses against the Lions and the Cheetahs will have a shortage of self-believe in their abilities as well as the game plan.
The Sharks will also hurt as several of their players will possibly not be able to play due to Covid19 regulations. The Sharks postponed the announcement of their squad in anticipation of their Covid19 results that will only be available later today.
Tafel Lager Griquas: 1 Andrew Beerwinkel, 2 Alandre van Rooyen, 3 John-Roy Jenkinson, 4 Ewan Coetzee, 5 Cameron Lindsay, 6 Gideon van der Merwe, 7 Stefan Willemse, 8 Johan Momsen, 9 Zak Burger (Captain), 10 Tinus de Beer, 11 Enver Brandt, 12 Andre Swarts, 13 Berton Klaasen, 14 Eduan Keyter, 15 James Verity-Amm. Replacements (from): 16 CJ Conradie, 17 Mox Mxoli, 18 Tijde Visser, 19 Adre Smith, 20 Siba Qoma, 21 Ashlon Davids, 22 Johnathan Francke, 23 Daniel Kasende, 24 Bandisa Ndlovu, 25 Raegan Oranje.
