Milnerton struck almost immediately at the start of the second half. A long-distance try scored by Milnerton to narrow the gap to 12-24. A great individual try by St Johns' Kieran Louw stretched their lead to 31-12. St Johns' second try of the half (38-12) could be the opening of the gates with Milnerton on the receiving end.
Milnerton sowed some class with their patience and scored their 3rd try after a good 8 phases (19-38). However, St Johns struck back immediately with an excellent try (45-15). With 5 minutes to go, the defence was not a priority and Milnerton's winger scored their 4th try (24-45).
St Johns were the better side with Milnerton never giving up hope. The scoreline may be a bit kind to Milnerton with St Johns's mistakes on attack could prove to be costly in the future.
