Springbok wing Canan Moodie was confident that the Boks were on the right track with one warm-up game remaining before launching their Rugby World Cup title defence, but he said there was still room for improvement as they strive to peak at the right time at the international spectacle.
“I think we can take a lot of confidence from this game,” said Moodie, who scored two tries and was named the Player of the Match afterwards.
“Putting up a record score against Wales at home isn’t something that happens often. It shows that our plans are working and that the guys are ready for what lies ahead mentally and physically.
“That said, there are a few things we can touch up on and we have one more game to do it before the World Cup.”
Canan Moodie said that the competition between the wings brings the best out of all of them and they just have to keep on going.
“Fortunately I have the backing of the coaches and my teammates to go out there and be myself and play to the best of my ability”
“It’s surreal. Four years ago I was still in school, so it’s amazing to be here and going to the World Cup. That is my motivation to come out and keep performing like this.
“Four years ago I would have given everything to be at the World Cup. So I am grateful for every opportunity to go out there and play my best.”
