Sevens: Blitzboks Beat Samoa To End Top Of Pool C


The Blitzboks had a great start to the HSBC SVNS Hong Kong tournament and secured their third win in a row beating Samoa 26-07. The Blitzboks top Pool C and will play later today in a Cup quarter-final match.

The first half was a level affair until Shilton van Wyk opened the scoring after four minutes of play. Thereafter, the Blitzboks dominated adding tries by Quewin Norttje and Impi Visser to lead 19-00 going into the halftime break.

Samoa opened their account and scored a deserved try to reduce the Blitzboks lead to 07-19. The Blitzboks struck back when Shaun Williams stepped past several defenders to score a seventy-five-meter try.
