Sebastian de Klerk Is “Just Enjoying His Rugby At The Moment”

Vodacom Bulls' Sebastian de Klerk said at a press conference that he improved a lot since he joined the Bulls in 2023. De Klerk said the mentorship of Willie le Roux helped him establish himself as a regular in the Bulls' starting XV and is “just enjoying his rugby at the moment”.

“I’ve learnt so much from all the players and all the Springboks, and Willie le Roux helps a lot with all his experience, with how to see the game, how to play the game, and how to handle pressure."

“There’s a good culture within the Bulls system, if I start a game and Canan Moodie or Kurt-Lee Arendse don’t, we will all help each other to make sure the team is fully prepared for the weekend, and if I’m on the bench I’ll give my best to prepare them.”

“The way the Springboks see the game, the experience they’ve gained, the way to handle pressure, I think I have grown a lot in the Bulls environment. My confidence has grown a lot.”

“I’ve improved a lot from the environment at the Bulls, the coaches and players don’t expect anything less than the best, you have to push yourself. "

“The Bulls environment really creates a space where you can just express yourself and challenges that bring out the best in you.”

“Getting loads of game time is always important. You realise you are just as good as them. You put in a lot of hard work and it is nice to see the hard work pay off.”

“You can only become a better rugby player if you play. So I am very grateful for the opportunity."
