With the EPCR Challenge Cup only three weeks away, Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie makes a welcome return from injury for Edinburgh Rugby in their Vodacom United Rugby Championship game against Vodacom Bulls at Hive Stadium on Friday night at 21:35 (SA Time).
The back-row forward, who has featured 29 times for Edinburgh in EPCR games across eight seasons, hasn’t played since damaging his ribs in the World Cup tie with Ireland on October 7 but is back at flanker to face the championship leaders.
Edinburgh senior coach Sean Everitt commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Jamie back to the team. He is a top player and Scotland captain for a reason. He brings further physicality, experience and leadership to the pack as we face a strong Vodacom Bulls side.”
Edinburgh opens the 2023-24 Challenge Cup with a tough match at three-time winners ASM Clermont Auvergne on December 8.
