Westville Boys' High School announced that Zander Erasmus has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Rugby 1st Team, starting from the 2025 season.
Zander has expressed that his last 3 years, working alongside some of Westville and KZN's rugby coaches, have equipped and provided him with a wealth of knowledge. He also led the U16 group in 2023 and 2024, achieving top 10 and top 20 rankings, respectively.
He serves as an assistant coach for the Sharks u/17's 7' team and spent the last two years with the Sharks Cravenweek setup as a Strength and Conditioning coach.
“Zander brings a wealth of experience to our Rugby programme. He has been so instrumental in the U16A space, and he has also worked in the Craven Week and Sharks Academy provincial structures for the past two years, so this is a natural progression.” Dusty Noble - Director of Rugby.
“We wish Zander well for his appointment in this “pressure cooker” environment as 1st XV head coach. We will be backing and standing alongside him. I have no doubt that his passion for coaching and his professional approach to rugby will have a positive impact on our 1st XV.”
Pam Hayward - Director of Sport
