Schoolboy Rugby – The Noordvaal Will be Fast And Physical In Overdrive

The Noordvaal area is buzzing with excitement as several unbeaten sides will test their commitment against some eager opposition who want to end their bragging rights. What is guaranteed, however, is fast and extremely physical actions from the boys in the north.

Monnas will travel to the East Rand to play EG Jansen who has turned their season around in a spectacular way. EG Jansen lost five games in a row before a great win against Glenwood (17-10) at the Kearsney Festival started a five-match winning streak. They are currently unbeaten in the Noorvaal Cup competition. Monnas, on the other hand, had a great start to the season but lost three of their last four matches and to add to their misery had two matches "postponed" resulting in a very stop-start latter part of their season. However, as promising it may sound for the Eastranders the king of the Westrand will be a handful and should return home still unbeaten in the Noordvaal Cup with several bruises caused by EG Jansen's no holds barred type of rugby. It will be physical, very physical.

Menlopark travels to Middelburg and should be able to win their first match after seven losses against Middelburg HTS who is also not having a great season.

Noordheuwel should also cruise to an easy win against Marais Viljoen who is struggling in the top competition of the Noorvall competition.

Waterkloof, who is having an up and down season, is hosting the "dream team" of Helpmekaar whose season has also not taken off yet. Waterkloof who has been steadily "improving" should be able to send Helpmekaar back home with more questions than answers. It will be a fast and full of action match which will be decided in the last ten minutes of the match.

Die Anker who is having a brilliant season and are unbeaten apart from the one loss against Noordheuwel (10-21) in late April, will host Pietersburg who has only played five matches this season. This too will be a close game and should test the hosts' will to remain unbeaten.

Pretoria Boys High should be the favourites to start their building towards their Affies match, against a St Benedict's who will be looking to end their season with a win, their fourth win in eleven attempts for 2022.

St John's will also be playing their last match of the season and should end their season on a high against St Stithians who is struggling. St Stithians also playing their last match of the season.
