Schoolboy Rugby – Preview Week 3 Western And Southern Cape

We take a short preview of the matches for this week in the Western and Southern Cape Region. All eyes will be on the Kwagga Rugby Festival, however, and then there is an expectation of revenge at the Porterville Festival.

Paarl Boishaai vs Durbanville

On 25 March 2023, Durbanville shocked the country with a 26-25 win against Sean Eramus' Paarl Boishaai at the Porterville Festival. Several accusations and excuses followed with post-matrics, the referee and ugly moms being the most used.

However, it is 2024 and we can be sure of a high-paced and physical match that makes the Porterville festival an extremely popular season opener in the Western Cape.

Who will win? It's Sean Erasmus' 3rd year back at Paarl Boishaai and the pressure will be to start another march to the number 1 ranking in South Africa.

Outeniqua vs Noordheuwel

In George, Outeniqua will face the impressive outfit of Noordheuwel from Krugersdorp. Noordheuwel made an impressive start to the season with a 22-12 win against Trio. Noordheuwel is said to have a 100% balanced team with the backline said to be one of the best in South Africa.

Outeniqua on the other side of the field has several players returning from their brilliant 2023 team, in fact, more than 50%. History has taught us that Outeniqua will have some big engines up front with an abundance of speed at the back.

This could just be the match of the weekend.
