Schoolboy Rugby – Preview – Noordvaal Will Not Disappoint With Plenty Of Action

Despite the "go-slow" experienced in the rest of the country, the action in the NoordVaal is hotter than hot with the teams looking to go into the school holiday with an advantage over their competitors.

These boys are giving their best despite playing trials and injuries. Playing for their own pride and that of their schools is brilliant.

The big game in the Noordvaal must be the one between KES and Affies. Both sides are hurting with Affies hurting about the one that got away when Grey College snatched a win in the final seconds of the match and KES' draw against Westville will definitely hurt, hurt a lot. However, when these two giants collide passion plays a big part in the performances of the teams especially when it is played at KES. Affies are steadily morphing into that elusive fifteen-man gameplan they are chasing and should just be good enough to beat the Red Machine whose last loss was in March. However, I am a worried man.

The Noordvaal Cup competition should not see any surprises unless travelling and home referees have any influence on the outcome of the matches.

Noordheuwel will still be hurting following their failure to be crowned the kings of Woesrand, however, the Kings of the Panne will travel to Noordheuwel with only one thing on their minds. Winning.

Garsfontein will host Menlopark and will want to show their haters more fight and a big win to rescue their season, defending their NoordVaal crown of 2024.

An unbeaten (In the Noordvaal Cup) Waterkloof travels to Rustenburg who has only lost to Noordheuwel. This could be interesting and if, maybe, when. Naah Waterkloof should cruise and maintain their credible chase of the title.

A big clash in Pretoria will be when Zwartkop will host Oos Moot. Oos Moot is currently "struggling" losing two from three in the Noorvaal Plate Division while Zwartkop's only loss was to a high-flying Kempton Park. This should be a brutal battle with the "honne" from the Moot that will fight until their parents threaten them to get into the bus, or......

Transvalia, who is on a four-match winning streak, will host Middelburg who has only lost to Middelburg HTS in the Noordvaal plate competition. This should be a good pointer to whom will qualify for the playoffs and who not.

As I said action, action and action.
