Paarl Boishaai started like a house on fire to score the opening try of the match within minutes of the start of the game. However, Jeppe started to claw their way back into the game and scored two quick tries in succession to lead 14-07 with fifteen minutes to play. The sides traded tries during the last ten minutes of the match before Paarl Boishaai levelled the scores with time up on the clock with a converted try.
A brilliant Paarl Boishaai added four tries in the second half to secure a 45-19 win over Jeppe.
Garsfontein 17-23 Oakdale
Although Oakdale scored the first try early in the first half, Garsfontein dominated territory and possession for most of the first half. Oakdale led with four minutes to go until Garsfontein scored their first try seconds before the end of the first half and levelled the scores 10-10.
Oakdale exploded into action early in the second half and added two converted penalties and a converted try to lead 23-10 with 25 minutes left to play in the second half. Despite conceding a converted penalty with ten minutes to play Oakdale defended like demons to deservedly beat Garsfontein 23-17.
Helpmekaar 19-20 Voortrekker Bethlehem
Helpmekaar made a fast start to the match and led 12-08 at the halftime break. Voortrekker Bethlehem Voortrekker surprised all with their direct, aggressive play and with 5 minutes still to play they led 20-19. Despite a last-ditch attempt to convert a penalty by Helpmekaar, Voortrekker Bethlehem walked away with a well-deserved 20-19 win.
EG Jansen 36-26 Welkom Gim
Eg Jansen was the clear favourite of the spectators to beat Welkom Gim with a 50+ scoreline, however, although EG Jansen started like a house on fire and led 10-00 early in the first half, Welkom Gim clawed their way back into the match. Two tries scored by Welkom Gim gave them a 12-10 lead at the halftime break.
Welkom Gim attacked from the kick-off of the second half to extend their lead to 19-10, however, thereafter EG Jansen dominated to win with "relative ease" scoring tries at regular intervals. A late consolation try made the score a better reflection of the match with EG Jansen winning 36-26 against a game and dangerous Welkom Gim.
Nelspruit 27-34 Drostdy HTS
Nelspruit took an early lead in the match, however, Drostdy fought their way back into the match to lead 13-12 at the halftime break. The men in red continued their fine form in the second half, however, Nelspruit fought their way back into the match to trail 21-31 with 5 minutes left on the clock. A mistake by Nelspruit on the tryline of Drostdy HTS ended in Drostdy HTS converting a penalty to deservedly win 34-27
