The exams and the preparations for the upcoming national rugby weeks is having a major effect on the number of matches being played this weekend.
Hilton will end the season with only one loss which they suffered at the St John's Easter Festival against Paarl Boishaai (05-14). I can not see a Kearsney who is having a nightmarish 2022 beating the men in white.
St Charles, who has lost eight of the ten matches they have played, will travel to Michaelhouse who is having a great 2022 and unfortunately, St Charles will travel back home with their ninth loss of the year.
Northwood will host a Clifton side who will believe that they can beat the higher-ranked Northwood. Clifton is travelling to Northwood with two great wins recently under their belt with Kearsney (24-17) and St David's (19-15) losing to them. Northwood on the other hand have lost nine of their fifteen matches played in 2022 with DHS (14-36) beating them convincingly a week ago. Can Clifton end their season in a brilliant manner, I think so but that is definitely not the view of the Northwood boys.
Westville will host Maritzburg College in their last fixture of the season. Westville is currently struggling and lost their last four matches in a row, however losing to Northwood (23-27), Hilton (00-40), DHS (23-33) and Michaelhouse (21-31) is definately no shame at all. Maritzburg College is also not having the best of seasons five from their last seven matches, which include DHS (14-38), Glenwood (22-23), Hilton (11-30) and a win against Northwood (29-21). I expect this to be a humdinger until the last seconds of a fast and entertaining match.
Fixtures (Ranking Points)
Hilton (97,204) vs Kearsney (80,864)
Michaelhouse (89,171) vs St Charles (76,809)
Northwood (84,570) vs Clifton (80,174)
Westville (88,455) vs Maritzburg College (87,381)
